WHO WE ARE

JONATHAN GEENEN
Jonathan is a graduate of George Brown Theatre School in Toronto and Master Student at Toneelacademie Maastricht. He has worked in live theater, events, print media, film and design for the past 15 years. He was artistic director of East West Theater in Shanghai for 5 seasons and has been a part of project teams at Red Gate International Shanghai, Nutricia, The Royal Shakespeare Company (UK), and “Bard on the Beach” (Vancouver).

FRIEDA JACOBOWITZ
Frieda is a classical flutist and graduate of Northwestern University and the Koninklijk Conservatorium. She performs, has taught flute privately since 1983 and at Platform C (Muziekschool Amstelveen) since 1991. She is a qualified English teacher and has taught at the Mediacollege Amsterdam (vocational school), Artez Conservatory, InHolland (University of Applied Sciences), the Stichting Joodse Kindergemeenschap Cheider (high school) and privately for adults, teenagers and children. She has been involved in amateur theater her whole life on stage and behind the scenes with music direction and more. For Canopy she brings her many years of board experience and a great enthusiasm for the theater.

CRISTINA REYNA
Cristina studied social communication and journalism in Belgium, and has a master’s degree in Media and Digital culture from the University of Amsterdam. She is a feminist activist and has worked in NGOs on women’s rights issues the last 20 years. As Canopy’s treasurer, she brings her professional experience working as a project manager and fundraiser.
